Artist Snapshot: Amie Bantz

Since the time she was a little girl, art has always been a part of Amie Bantz’s life.

Her passion for her craft was so strong that just two weeks before going away to college that she, on a complete whim, changed her major from nursing to art education.

Without a large portfolio in her possession.

And just two high school art classes under her belt.

What may seem on the surface as a dubious life decision has paid off in the end for Bantz, who is doing what she loves. She shares her passion for art with her students as a high school art teacher in the Carlisle Area School District in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

Being a full-time art teacher affords Bantz the opportunity to spend her free time creating art in various forms, as a book illustrator, graphic designer, muralist, and painter, among others.

Since she is the second artist streetwear collab with Murage apparel, Daily Murage spent some time with Bantz learning about her craft and what makes her tick as a member of “the human experience.”

We also pose some hard-hitting questions for our artist snapshot feature, which are included here.
